THE GUT MICROBIOTA FOR HEALTH SUMMIT

Porto, March 14-15, 2026

On behalf of the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), and Gut Microbiota for Health (GMFH), we are delighted to invite you to the GMFH World Summit 2026, taking place on March 14–15, 2026, in Porto, Portugal.

The central theme of this year’s Summit is “Diet and other ways to manipulate the gut microbiome in clinical practice.” The scientific program will feature plenary lectures, workshops, and interactive discussions on key areas such as:

  • The impact of diet, probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics on shaping the microbiome, including the role of ultra-processed foods, fibers, dietary exclusions, and plant-based diets.
  • New insights into the links between diet, gut microbiota, and cardiometabolic health-
  • Practical workshops addressing dietary approaches in IBD, IBS, liver diseases, and cancer.
  • Advances in microbiome-derived treatments, from live biotherapeutic products and dietary interventions to fecal microbiota transplantation in IBD, IBS, and cancer.
  • The evolving role of the microbiome in cancer therapy, including strategies to enhance immunotherapy responses.

This interdisciplinary scientific programme is designed for a broad and diverse audience, including microbiome scientists, healthcare physicians, nutritionists, and dietitians.

We warmly invite you to join us in Porto to engage with international experts, exchange knowledge, and shape the future of microbiome science and clinical care.

We look forward to welcoming you in March 2026.
