As of February 1st, our platform has joined forces with Gut Microbiota for Health, another leading online community dedicated to the dissemination of knowledge about gut microbiota edited by the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM).

Research shows that host-microbe interactions can regulate immune and metabolic pathways. Here, Fu and colleagues investigated the connection between the microbiota and selected risk factors for cardiovascular disease in humans: abnormal blood lipid levels and high body mass.

According to a new study recently published in Gut, however, the benefits of exercise may not end there. Researchers suggest that frequent exercise may also play an important role in our whole-body health by – directly or indirectly – contributing to the diversity of our gut microbiota.
