The 2nd Gut Microbiota for Health Summit took place in Madrid from the 24th to the 26th of February, 2013. The event was co-organized by the Gut Microbiota & Health section of the ESNM and the American Gastroenterological Association, with the support of Danone.
The Summit took place as two large-scale initiatives, the Human Microbiome Project funded by the NIH and MetaHIT funded by the European Commission, came to an end. In this context, it was a natural objective for the event to wrap up the knowledge that has emerged in the past 4 years in the field of gut microbiota and bring it to the medical community.
