Natasha Haskey

“Eating right for gut health” is the motto of Natasha Haskey, a Registered Dietitian from Canada, who has 18 years of experience in the field of nutrition. Her research work focuses on how dietary factors influence the gut microbiome, immune system and clinical disease in inflammatory bowel diseases.

Interviewed at the 8th Gut Microbiota for Health World Summit 2019 in Miami (USA), Haskey analyzes what happens in the gut microbiota when we change our diet; whether ‘a perfect diet for everyone’ really exists; and the benefits of fermented foods and probiotics. “There is lot of scientific evidence to say that diet has a very important impact on our gut microbiota,” says Haskey, and through her work, she ensures her patients are better informed about the effects of what they eat.
