The gut microbiota has been a trending topic for several years. Discoveries and debate around its importance for overall health and well-being are on the rise, as are the number of searches of the term ‘gut health’.

The GMFH editing team is pleased to report that, for the fourth year in a row, consumer health information website Healthline has selected the Gut Microbiota for Health platform as one of the 9 best gut health blogs of 2020 for our “active and ongoing intention to educate, inspire, and empower people to improve their gut health.”

With our 2020 platform redesign for a better user experience, and the new section called Food 4 Gut Health, dedicated to promoting the role of food in gut function among dietitians, healthcare professionals and gut health advocates, GMFH is more engaged than ever in educating people about this popular topic. We have also launched the new Instagram @Food4Gut_Health account, with the aim of sparking new conversations, sharing science in a colorful and funny way, and expanding our audience.

During the first half of the year, we shared more than 50 articles related to gut microbiota, diet, immunity and gut health, along with interesting video interviews with experts and attractive infographics.

We were also active with the #GutToKnowYou awareness campaign, sharing the importance of the gut microbiota for health with as many people as possible. The campaign included more than 600 tweets and led to 375 of you have actively taking part in conversations with us.

Thank you for following us —and don’t forget to take good care of your gut!
